ซูเปอร์แฟมิคอม เป็นเครื่องเล่นเกมที่ฮิตมากเครื่องหนึ่ง ก่อนที่ Sony จะออกเครื่อง Play Station ออกมา ซึ่งเครื่องนี้ถือว่าเป็นเครื่องที่แสดงภาพสีได้ดี ได้ถึง 256 สี นับว่ามากพอสมควรสำหรับเครื่องเกมยุคนั้น ส่วนเกมดัง ๆ ก็มีเยอะแยะ เช่น Final Fantasy, Street Fighter, Dragon Quest, Dragon ball เป็นต้น
